What has happened in Mongolia after fifth general election, which was held on June 29 of the last year? When the ruling MPRP won a majority seats in the Parliament, the opposition force with civil movements had created the circumstances that turned into mass disorder, erupting into serious violence and vandalism that caused the loss of life and our Party Headquarters was fully destroyed. It ends with a four day state of emergency of the President of Mongolia that we have never practiced before. Despite these obstacles, Mongolia is entering in to a period of accelerating its economy and development. Necessary laws on strategically important mineral deposits should be approved and people of Mongolia could benefit from revenues of mining sector. In order to resolve key issues of development, the MPRP had to cooperate with the main opposition force and formed the Coalition Government. |
